Attendance Allowance & Spanish Residency
 

Does anyone as a Spanish Resident receive UK Attendance Allowance and if so, what is the protocol with DWP. Have been trying to get contact DWP but unable to get through because of restricted working hours due to the Covoid 19. Thinking of taking up residency but as wife, as recipient of Attendance Allowance would like to know how her AA would be affected. Would be grateful for any response.TIA

We have lived here in the Basque country for 11 years, retired, as I am British & my wife Spanish (Basque). Our eldest son lives with us as he has Down's syndrome.
Just before we came here in 2009 we were in contact with the DWP. He receives DLA (disability living allowance) & Employment and Support allowance. We chose to have his DLA allowance paid into our Spanish account monthly.
As far as I know, your wife's Attendance Allowance could be paid either into a British or a Spanish bank account.
Have you tried emailing DWP. At least anything in writing gets an answer in writing.
