Default Asturias, in the North of Spain

Have any of you ever been here? It´s a part of Spain not yet discovered by many foreigners, it´s a beautiful and special place; green and rainy, with many mountains, history, nature and cities with charm.

By the way! There are also cheap flights to Asturias from London -Stansted Airport!!!

PS, That´s right I´m from Asturias

Judging by this and your other posts, let me guess..... you`re an estate agent.

Read rule 9.

But Galicia has more to offer in the way of flight connections to the UK and other parts of Spain, Plus we have more coastline 3 World Heritage sites...and many more great places to see and live. But we are biased too!

I have been to Gijon a few other places in Ásturias, it is lovely and you cannot beat crusty bread and "Cabrales" from Asturias.

Yes Lucy, been there, driven through a few times but as you say it may be beautiful but its green and rainy (and much colder than down here). I found it felt quite Cornish in some way.

My Parents moved to Asturias two years ago but have been unable to get British TV out there. Have you or anyone managed to find a local satellite installer who can set up British TV.

They are in their eighties and do not really speak Spanish, and being able to watch British TV would make such a difference in their lives.

They live on the top floor of a three storey apartment, and have been told they can put a dish on the roof, but a local installer told them you cannot get British TV in the region . From what I have read on the net that does not seem to be so, The Astra 2 satellites would transmit most of the channels they would want to view for free.

Can anyone out there give me advice?

Thanks
