The NRA line is that if everyone had a gun none of this would happen. Looney Tunes - but they have a very loud voice.

Could end up like the gunfight at the ok corral, except it would be a gunfight in a kids school playground. 
Being US of A, might just as well go the whole hog and have a watchtower with a machine gun post on top.
