Architect Costs? Advice Please

Architect Costs? Advice Please
Hi All,
We will be embarking on a building project starting from an empty plot. Anyone know of any good websites about Architect costs?
For example what would be the expected costs of employing an Architect to design the house, apply for all permissions, oversee the work and sign the project off at the end.
I understand they charge a percentage of the projected build cost?
Thanks in advance!

This guide is from 2000 But it should give you some idea of the costs to be met in building your own place.

10% of the cost of the project is a typical figure.
You will also need to budget for the extra controls that are required for the new 10 year insurance that you will need. This involves geological survey, concrete and steel tests and the attendance of a structural engineer during the major stages of the build. That would be about another 2000 euros plus the cost of the insurance which is around 2000 depending on the size of the project.
