As a temporary expensive solution sure, though open windows and an industrial heater has similar impact. The domestic devices however long term are an ineffective money pit, avtually some of the better aircon units cn perform the same trick - heat and dehumidify, but horribly expensive to run.

To the op, remember, inside to outside ventilation = a good fan, not very expensive, you have to put holes in walls for 9-12 inch fans, but they do work, need a timer function so they stay on at least x mins.

i like the boat analogy. I know folk who use yacht ventilators ie air circulation and ventilation but no water coming in. Discuss with boat people and chandlers about solutions
