Anybody bought TV's off the internet?
Hello,
When we move in in January, I would like to purchase a plasma screen & sound system. Had a look around the local stores in November but even in Carrefour, the choice was restricted as I prefer LG screens for quality v price.
I have found www.pixmania.com/es who I have previously used in the UK - has anybody any experience of using them in Spain, good or bad?
Any other suggestions please?
Many thanks,
Peter

Also have a look at Mediamarkt, Boulanger and Miro, All very big Electrical shops with good customer service. They all stock LG screens.

I got an LG 42 from Carrefour, and an LG wide monitor/tv from Boulanger, both excellent.

I have used Pixmania - they are OK until something goes wrong - their customer service is very poor. I had real problems when they "lost" a delivery.
I recently bought a TV from www.electroprecio.com
Good price, next day delivery and a real telephone helpline! Their customer service record is second to none.

Boulanger has a large selection of most up to date models as does Fnac. El Court Ingles are more expensive. I'm not sure how much cheaper they are over the internet compared to their store prices.
I've had dealings with pixmania before and their customer service is poor.
Store prices are way higher here than what you'd pay in the UK. Also the current exchange rates make things even worse again. I bought my last two tv's over the net from the UK and had them shipped over.
As an example there's a Sony tv in Boulanger for €3300 and on pixmania its £1700. Thats a huge difference no matter how rich you are.
Oddly enough I was in Boulanger a few weeks ago pricing up their latest models for a friend and as I don't have the best of memories I started taking pictures (with camera phone) of the price and model sign thats in front of each tv. Next thing the salesman warned me not to do it and security would take my phone off me. Not sure what he thought I was going to do with a few images of a price sign
Is it me or does anyone else find shopping in Spain a complete joke at times? I was in Nor Auto the other day looking for a new car battery.
In the centre of the shop they had a huge pile of batteries on offer with a price stand quoting 85 euros next to them. So I picked the one I wanted and took it to the counter. Next thing I'm getting charged 130 euros! So I said no way its 85 euros!! and pointed to the large pile of batteries on offer.
She just shrugged and said no senor thats for the smallest one! So its not really on offer then is it I said and walked out shaking my head. Since then I've found the battery on the internet for half the price.
Very frustrating, but thats the Spanish way and they seem to like it.

I have for some time been toying with the idea of a new telly for Christmas.
The cheapest price I have found so far is
http://www.redcoon.es/
€20 cheaper than Pixmania
Although the exchange rate has gone against me, the price of the TV in €s keeps falling and remains almost the same in £s
