Hiya....

My friends are over from the UK....have been all week, but the weather is a bit grotty today (as opposed to the glorious weather we have been lucky enough to get!) and it's a Bank Holiday.....so just wondered what is open !!

They could shop til they drop ....so can anyone tell me if anything is open today.....like a big shopping mall.

As it's Constitution Day it sounds like its not a regional holiday ....or is it ?

Are the bars and Restaurants still open ?

Any suggestions on what to do in and around Oliva would be great.......they don't mind travelling.....they wanted to visit Denia, Javea etc ...

bars are open..............hubby's just been out & says not even the chinese bazaars are open ! (Javea)

I understand that Friday is a fiesta too - so does that mean that everything will be closed wed, thurs and friday. I know they usually bridge the holidays but is it likely that some places will open on Thursday or at least restricted hours? OH has just gone out today, coming home Saturday. I am expecting to see a slim line version at the airport if he can't get food for 3 days!

Thursday should be normal hours for large shops and supermarkets. Just Wed and Friday nearly everywhere except restaurants is closed. Offices and factories tend to take a longer break though. Already signs are up on the roads warning of the accidents every year for the "puente" as people take off and meet up with family to eat and exchange xmas presents. Christmas is much quieter!

Most things are closed here on the Costa Del Sol, La Canada Shopping Centre, Puerto Banus Shops, El Corte Ingles and also Mercadona Supermarkets.

Closed Today, Wednesday and also Friday.

shops are open Thursday, closed Friday, schools are shut all 3 days

surely you don't really worry about him eating? most of the bars & restaurants are open!

No I don't worry at all - it's just that he prefers to eat indoors rather than look like a "Billy no mates" eating alone in a restaurant. And it's not much fun eating out, breakfast, lunch and dinner but if supermarkets are open on Thursday, it won't be a problem.
