Any rubbish tip in Alicante province?
Hi,
I live in Vall d' Alcalá between Muro de Alcoy and Pego and am looking for a rubbish tip. I have one dirty old armchair to get rid of but can't seem to find anywhere. Any help appreciated. Cheers.

Do you have the roadside rubbish collection bins that are emptied every day? if so then just dump it there.

I don't think it will fit into one of those as it is bulky. I can always try and break it down...

Hi there and welcome to the forum. This section is just for introductions and not country specific questions, so I'll shift this thread over to the Spain section if you don't mind. You'll get a better response over there.
Hope you'll join in with some other threads in the Spain section.
All the best.

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.
BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.
Ask in your town hall, most of them will come and collect for free.
Please let me know if you need any further help.

Where I live it is illegal to dump bulky stuff by the bins. Call your council to arrange collection.

They stick anything and everything next to the bins at my place, wouldn't care but there's an eco parc only 2 kms away.
Weekenders come along and fill the bins with garden cuttings and prunings etc then there's nowhere else for the usual rubbish to go other than dump it next to the bins.
Old furniture is much in demand in these desperate times, if you stick your chair next to the bins it's a fair bet someone will have picked it up by the next morning.

Re: Any rubbish tip in Alicante province?
There is an eco-park just outside Denia, near the hospital in La Zara. When we visited last year they seemed to take most items (I particularly noticed metals, wood, garden waste) with the exception of 'normal' household rubbish which has to be placed in a roadside bin. I believe that an eco park is scheduled to open in Pego in the not-too-distant future, but as we don't live in Spain full-time, this information may be out of date!
I have just googled 'ecoparc Pego' and there is information about it on the website of adjuntament de Pego, opening hours, map etc. And it does seem to accept furniture

Brilliant. Thank you everyone for your help. It looks like I've found what I was looking for (the word "Eco park" was not in my vocabulary).
