Default Any Pc/Printer Buffs out there?

Can anybody help me, my printer has just had the colour cartridge replaced, and the it is printing the colour PINK when it should be blue. I haven't a clue about these things and don't have the original instructions. It is an HP deskjet 920c. Could it be a faulty cartridge?

Try posting in the lab, you will more than likely get a quick response there

Could be a duff cartridge (the printing head is actually on the cartridge and not the printer, hence why they're so expensive)

If you're using a 'recycled' one then my guess it's probably that, but if it's new then go onto HP website (or if you have them already installed) run the diagnostics software.

It will clean/align the heads and if it's still not working then try a new cartridge.

Try this link :

BTW: If it is possible I would look to replace the printer as I recently replaced my equally as old (940c) at home to the new HP printer as the way they use ink is much more efficient these days and it recycles the ink it uses when it sets up (every time you turn it on or before the print, your printer just wastes it)

Not the mention the printing quality is much better too! It just makes better financial sense in the long run as you save on ink!

Likely to be either a blocked head or dodgy contacts between the cartridge and the cradle (it's an old model - newer models normally self-diagnose a contact problem).

There is no actual 'blue' colour in the cartridge - it's made up of a mix of the three colours (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) - in this case it sounds like you're missing the Cyan colour.

many thanks. I have faffed about clean/aligning and did the troubleshooter but it hasn't helped.
Have been thinking about a new printer for a while now, so off we go to the shops! Don't say to hubby though
