Any expats in Cordoba?

Hi all,

Just wondering if any expats are living in Cordoba?

Thanks.

I doubt that there are many. It’s too far from the beach and the weather is awful.

Thanks Fred.

July and Aug are, by all accounts, pretty much unbearable. The rest of the year though seems to have rather pleasant weather. Obviously, being so far inland is not for everyone. However, after living in Madrid for several years, it hasn't bothered me at all. The climate in both cities is actually very similar (Córdoba wins by a few degrees).

Basically, I am weighing up the pros and cons of a possible work relocation down there.

Ah! Work! I have forgotten what that is! Haven’t done any for 27 years.

It does make a difference if only because you work in an air conditioned environment which clearly helps and ,yes, Madrid is a good training ground for Cordoba.

Can't see what you mean by " awful" Fred It's not that different from where I live and you just have to adapt. Watch what the natives do and follow them . I remember being asked to play a musical instrument, in a band, for a birthday party outside in August in the afternoon. All the locals thought we were mad, but so many ex pats seem unable to adapt to" life in the sun" On another occasion we did a performance for some friends this time in the evening, and they made us stop at 10.30 pm as they said that it would upset their neighbours, when in fact most of the neighbours were only just going out for tapas at that time. As for the beach,it seems that you have never been to the Subetica, where there are plenty of lake beaches frequented by many of the locals especially at the week ends.
Pete.
