How about the idea of a juice bar? How popular are they in Spain? V. healthy... 5 a day...you know...

A couple of aquaintances of ours are just opening a Juice Bar in the centre of Gandia.

Is there a gap in the market?
I'm guessing one could serve fruity/vegetable based food, herbal teas, even liquers/licqueres/licores/*@~£!!!

I don`t think the Spanish would be that interested though so you would have to rely on veggie expats. ;-)

Actually I noticed that the next planned opening at the Eroski shopping centre in Osuna (Sevilla) is...a Brazilian Juice Bar! Be interesting to see how it does.
We have had 3 "health food" type stores open in our town in the last couple of years so I think that healthy eating/living may be catching on! (Maybe some of the women have finally caught sight of the size of their ample Latino bottoms in the mirror! Oooh bitchy!)

jdr, take for example the cost of a juicer machine. How many would want one in their kitchen? Not that many, I'm thinking. How many would want the trouble of preparing, for example, carrots to put through the juicer? Not me. I'd pay someone to do that. Have you seen the cost of vegetable juices/exotic fruit juices (sometimes with additional sugar added) on the market shelves? Yet, if someone were to say that carrots are good for you (step in the medical/nutrition team), and you could swallow in a glass the equivalent of what you'd eat in a week... (BTW, you might end up with orange feet!)
Then, of course, there's ice cream! Carrot ice cream, Casava ice cream, Chirimoya ice cream...

P.S. Hillybilly! meeooowww! As the saying goes, you need to wear a bit on the bottom to keep the face looking younger. Or something like that...:)
