Almost all of those are Costa Blanca, and most will be holiday homes left unoccupied for months at a time, this was bad in terms of homes left unoccupied, and not only British ones, but where we lived there were Spanish, German, Norwegian etc. all there only for a few months a year. I went to a meeting of the place we lived in and was given 2 votes, I had been given voting rights by my neighbour, German, and never knew, apparently they were given to the previous occupants of our house, and the votes were allocated to the house. There was never any problem with squatters there, mind you it was a gated community eventually.

Sorry NO, it happens here also. On Police advice, since the squatters weren't actually in the property, we broke in and changed the locks from the ones they had put in. The property was then reoccupied by us, and fortunately, the sale that had been agreed went through a few days later without problem.

What do you mean 'neither should yours be' . It has for 3-4 years, read my thread ' Tenant Eviction Nightmare Part 1' and 'Tenant Eviction Nightmare Part2 '.

Guess what? The tenant we evicted via the courts has broken back in again and claiming 'adverse possession'.
