Those Indians look such pleasant and peaceful sort of guys, nothing like those evil devils portrayed in John Wayne films.

No doubt they've been touched up a bit but to think they're almost 150 years old is amazing.
Credit to the guy who took them with such basic equipment as was available at the time, can't have been easy getting around back then either.

I would think any major topographical area would look the same, I mean Everest does, even Mt Snowden looks the same. How on earth are you going to change a canyon..

The surface of the planet has been constantly changing since it was formed.
Though readily noticeable changes tend not to happen in such a short timescale, some do occur.
