Re: Amazon

I cannot use Amazon as no couriers deliver to Aptd de correos, MRW receive the goods the next day amazon tell me my goods are back at the depot because I gave an inaccurate address, I have complained to Amazon and asked that MRW email or phone me when my goods get to the depot, which is next door to the kids school, still no luck MRW say they cannot do this! If I order on line now I contact companies to find out which courier service to arrange that I pick up my goods. So far Nacex and Seur have managed to phone me to arrange pick up points local to me so that I do not have to go to their offices, which are 40km away and have also on the day phoned me to say they will be at the pick up point within 10 minutes, no problem to them whatsoever just MRW who are based locally cannot even ask me to drop into the local office. Amazon inform me that MRW are a good company and that I am obviously giving them inaccurate information as I cannot have an address at a post office.

whilst it is annoying, because of where you live you have to have a box at the post office - many people in Spain are in that situation. Even here our local correos has boxes for those living outside the village.

Perhaps they are worried they will be blamed if you claim non-receipt if it is signed for by correos staff who should then put into your box.

But, many companies say in their delivery instructions and small print they don't deliver to PO Boxes (except BFPO) in the UK.

I don't have a problem with the PO box situation and understand it, its just that I cannot understand why other companies let me pick up my parcels from the van driver at a cafe or petrol station but MRW who are based in our town won't even let me know the parcel is sitting in an office they just send it back! I have tried filling in the bit about where to leave it if you are out in spanish to say phone me but to no avail and Amazon are not interested in trying to help. Now I just order from Amazon stores that use an alternative courier company.

It is so nearsighted of MRW to not be encouraging you to pick parcels up from their depot, saves their delivery people time etc.

I was under the impression that Amazon/MRW had a special arrangement with Correos where they will deliver to a PO box.

I am pretty sure I have seen Amazon boxes in our Correos.

Another point about giving couriers your phone number - I always put it in the actual address so they can't claim they didn't know it.

I just had an Amazon delivery - my address is nowhere near my actual door/house  - it's not even in the same street

it was a courier who had my mobile number & luckily I was home - however in the past if I've been out we have always managed to agree a delivery time

My address for Amazon includes mobile number and "navigacion via Viveiro" , and I am now thinking of putting our GPS coordinates in my address.

I cannot believe what I have just received from an ebay seller after asking if they would post to Spain -

"Sorry. Spain is in such turmoil at the moment I could not gaurantee delivery there."

People do seem to think that countries that are, or appear to be suffering more from the financial crisis are like third world countries, with no infrastructure. I buy a lot from Ebay but about 50% of sellers don't post to Europe and a few more won't post to Greece or Spain. I sell online and the only country I have problems with is Italy.

I came across that for the first time this week with an item "fulfilled by Amazon", when I placed the order it said it was not available in my country, I simply ordered the same item from another seller which was also "fulfilled by Amazon".
As that part of my order was for over £80 I'd say the first dealer has shot themselves in the foot.... I will not be ordering from them again!
