I am sure I have read somewhere that a music licence has been granted to Hoya 19 and a live session is planned soon.

They got a music licence a couple of weeks ago. So are 'legal'

I have no problem with Hoya 19 (although I'm sure near neighbours do) I get fed up with the holiday makers who forget get that some of the other people on their Manzana's live and also work here. We have several Spanish families who must find it a nightmare trying to get a good nights sleep ready for work in the morning with groups of noisy people sat on their terraces until 4 o'clock in the morning. Luckily its only 2-3 months of the year. CE is NOT a Butlins holiday Camp, regards Bryony

Well said; but is there a way of getting the noise stopped at a reasonable hour, say midnight? Or are there no anti-noise laws in Spain

I know of some Esuri residents who leave for some or all of the summer because of Spanish families descending en masse to Esuri and the noise level is unbearable for the full time residents also the inconsiderate abandoning anywhere everywhere of their cars.

I would be so happy if I knew about any noise level laws, they just need to be quotable, the holiday makers next to me would not know they might not be enforced !

The only thing we have on Esuri are newsletters from the various Management Co's advising property owners of the rules and regs concerning each Manzana. Quote 'causing noise or disturbance to neighbours, especially between the hours of 12.00 midnight and 8.00am and during 'siesta 15h-17h is prohibited' but presumably not everyone reads these. I assume you can complain though but what good it will do I don't know.

I think the 19h licence is valid till midnight. We can hear it from ours but am ok with it ending at that time.

We can also hear the disco in the ind est till much later, I think that STARTS at around 1am till 5-6am. We can hear the bass but its not that bad.

The design of the appts is not good for noise as it echoes all round, and we often hear people chatting laughing on their terraces, sometime with music till 3+am, usually the Spanish as they have later hours, and its more normal for them to be up late.... E.g sometimes very young kids are awake playing in the squares after midnight. I dont think many follow the community/IC rules on holiday... Certainly the Spanish for whom midnight is early.

We know Spanish people that MEET at 1am for a night out !!

Probably best to get earplugs, as its nice to have the windows/French doors open on hot nights, letting more noise in.

Not sure whether you read the article that John started this thread with but the basics are that the locals in Seville (i.e. Spanish) are basically feed up with noise at night and after years of 'putting up with it' they have got the city councillors to pass a raft of regulations in order to deal with the situation. Fines will range from between 300 & 300,000 Euros for having ' an excessively' loud conversation on the street & playing loud music whilst driving to name but a few. So its actually Spanish moaning about Spanish so they are obviously not all the same. Regards

P.S. I know several Ayamonte residents (again Spanish) who put up with the invasion of their town by holiday makers in the Summer but are really pleased when they go home. Having said that I know a lot of Cornish residents who feel the same way about Brit holiday makers.

Actually numerous times but I like peace and quiet even then and tend to go out of season and of the beaten track. Also if you read the rest of the posts you will see I am not alone in just wanting people to tone it down a bit.

P.S. did you know posting in capitals is the same as shouting.

My place is very close to Hoyo 19 and have to say that the music from there, either when it was Jag's or now it is Hoyo 19 is neither excessively loud nor inappropriate and it is nice to hear some life around the place. We bought long before Jag's opened but always knew that this would be some form of club house or restaurant so it would be churlish to complain about the noise arising from such activity.
