Alternatives to Iberdrola?

A friend has asked me the following:

"I recently purchased a small bungalow 2 bed 1 bath in the Torrevieja area as a holiday home may be retirement in future i,m 63, now my last bill from Iberdrola for 2 months was 28euro of which only 2.99 was for power rest standing charges etc, is there a company who has lower charges?"

Can anyone help him?

There are alternatives to Iberdrola, but these charges are quite standard across the industry.

You're friend is only being charged 12 euros per month - what potencia does he have? One way to reduce this cost is to 'downgrade' - for 3.45kW, we pay about 8 euros per month.

All the companies charge pretty much the same as they use the government controlled TUR tariff.

It's not worth the hassle of changing unless you are a very heavy user on a different "free market" tariff.
