Alicante bandstand
Hi all.
Could anybody tell me anything about the bandstand in the marina that I've seen photos of online. I'm bringing a big band, the ORBI PLAYA BIG BAND to the Costa Blanca at the end of July. We're an amateur, community big band (Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Ted Heath etc) making our third visit and will be based in Torrevieja. I'm in the process of organising concerts and have a gap to fill on Monday 28th July. I'd love to bring the band to Alicante but have no contacts. Does anybody know who books the bands that perform on the bandstand? We are pretty much self contained, requiring access to mains electricity and a dozen armless chairs and an approximate space of 8m wide by 5m deep. We are very happy to support charitable events and are working closely this year with Help At Home (Mar Menor) and on our first visit gave a workshop and concert with students from the British School in Alicante. If anybody has any information or ideas it will be very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Mike

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.
Please let me know if you need any further help.
