Alcadeisa
Hi all, This is my first post, and I have many questions to ask, I'm moving to Alcdeisa in the next couple of months, I will be working in Gibraltar, but living in Spain and need to know the following, 1, Can I drive in Spain on an English driving license? 2, Are there any benefits to me, to encourage me to take dual or Spanish citizenship? 3, If I work in Gib, is there such a thing as National insurance, 4, Do I need a work permit? any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

2) I know there is a bit of friction at the moment regarding people living in Spain but working in Gib. So not sure if you should apply for residency in Spain (although legally you should) as I don't know if you have to declare income etc...you'd have to research that a bit more.
3) You will have to pay tax and insurance contributions if you are paid normally in Gib.
4) You don't need a work permit.
Hope some of this helps!

Here is a really interesting PDF file you should take a look at it
Living In Spain
A valid driving licence Photo Card one is valid, the old paper one has to be exchanged for a spanish one. The Spanish one has to be renewed every five years.
2, Are there any benefits to me, to encourage me to take dual or Spanish citizenship.
I would remain a British Citizen if I were you as their are no benefits to hold dual Spanish/English.
You could become a Resident. There is a whole load of paperwork involved in any dealings with the Spanish government departments.
Getting into and out of Gib is a nightmare you could be on the boarder for hours.
Good luck in your new venture.
