AirBnB, Flat rental fraud/phishing email
 

Hi guys,

I hope its ok to post this here. I was recently approached by email by a person presenting themselves as Vanessa Manero with an offer that was too good to be true. I very large 3 bed, 2 bath and fully refurbished and furnished, all utilities included flat in Benalmedena at a price far lower than what studio flats are being rented for in the same area.

They told me that they got my email address from Airbnb, which I do not believe for a moment.

Out of curiosity, I inquired a bit to this person and they told me I would need to pay over 2,000 euro to reserve the flat before they would give me the URL on Airbnb to actually book it. They then went on to tell me I would need to send a photo of my passport or identity card. Of course I have not complied to any of this as it seems like an outright phishing scam or fraud.

I am hoping to warm anyone else of this person or this scam. I have reported them to gmail and to UK and Spanish cyber crime police.
