Oh good!!

The traffic has been horrendous around here today and will only get worse tomorrow and Sunday - plus the bloody helicopters will be flying over constantly, ferrying the rich and famous.

Think the answer to the question is "Money" as if Bernie needs any more of that.

Not if you dont care about history etc, I guess not.
After all Silverstone is always regarded as the home of World motorsport, the first GP having been held there.

They'd improved access, and they had permission now to improve the circuit, but it appears that will all have been a waste of money as Bernie has decided to take it elsewhere

Wouldn't fancy using East Midlands airport that week, the road infrastructure is abysmal round there, will have to be improved.

Its not a done deal though is it?

They need to get the needed planning permissions first.

Can anyone explain why Silverstone isn't getting what Donnington is?

someone on the telly over the weekend said something along the lines of "the BRDC cannot pay for improvements to the circuit as the just spent £5 milion on a new clubhouse!" - probably bernie!!!!

for me silverstone lost appeal when they introduced the abbey chicane and made bridge much slower, no more taking the corner flat out and braking for the complex....there was more overtaking then than when the reshaped it, especially in the more exciting support races - BTCC cars were brave / idiotic in their overtakings there!
