Default Advice on taking a cat back to the UK.(flight info)

We are taking our cat back to the uk. She has had her rabies injections and now we need to look into flights, hopefully from Alicante to anywhere in the UK.
I want to try and avoid those firms that pick up the cat and drop her to a door in the uk cos these charge so much money. Ideally I want to take her across myself, hopefully between March and June.

Does anyone know how much this will roughly cost and which airlines I could contact?
I think Thomson does this service but im unsure.

Im hoping it wont cost more than £500 to take her.

Any advice on prices etc.?

i think first thing you will need is a passport for the cat,!
blood test are needed,i think it can take up to 3.6 months to
get the results back. best go and see a vet for advice.

Yeah I have all of that. Microchip, passport blood tests and rabies.
She is all ready to go apart from being wormed which i have to do 24hrs before travelling.

PS I will also consider travelling with her by ferry if she can.

regards
