Advice relating to equipping a new apartment

Many thanks for all advice previously received - it has been extremely useful!

Having now purchased an apartment on the Las Encinas complex, we have decided to bring a van over to Costa Esuri in October with the majority of the furniture and assorted items we need.

I was wondering if you could provide assistance/advice in regard to the following:

I understand many people choose to install an electric water heater to avoid using gas. I would appreciate information about where I can purchase one and who to contact for installation.

Similarly, I would be grateful for information relating to the purchase and installation of an air conditioning system.

Hi Wynn, I have a duplex on Marina Esuri, which I had aircon / heating installed last year. I had several quotes and chose AYACLIMA. I chose Panasonic units and have been delighted. The company is a two man operation of two Spanish brothers both who are residents on Marina Esuri. Their ford transit van is always buzzing around the area. They are good workers an know their stuff. I cant speak highly enough of them. Good service, good workers and a good price. They dont speak loads of english, but get by ok. They have an industrial unit on the polygono. I even got them to sort out a fault at a relations apt, installed by a competitor some years ago. They did it in less than 30 mins, all sorted and for about 40 euros including the part needed.
Regarding the electric water heater, i fitted a bosch subsidiary one from LEROY MERLIN. 100 ltrs and i have been very pleased with it. I think it is currently 179 euros, plus another 7 euros for new flexi connectors. If you want someone to supply and fit I suggest you go to Ferrer on the polygono again. Dont get a cheap & cheerful own brand 120 euro one, if you plan to keep the flat for more than 4 years. You get what you pay for as always!!

Jon, I just checked Leroy merlins website and its still 179 euros. Search for Termos electricos. I bought the TS Cointra make which is owned by Bosch. Keith

Thanks Keith - I agree, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for! My property purchase is part of a long term retirement plan so I fully intend to do things properly.

Hi Jon, I sent you a private message (same day) with all the details. Check your inbox, but in short the big main unit that connects to the ductwork was 1700 euros supplied fitted all done. It is loads of work as the false bathroom ceiling has to come down and be refitted to accomodate the internal unit. The external unit is quite large and very well engineered in my opinion. I chose the panasonic units, but they had cheaper options. The best thing is to send them an email via the website and ask for a quote. They will know what your apt is like from previous jobs.The price I paid was an October promo in 2014, fitted November. I suspect it might be dearer in high season when they have too much work.Hope that helps. Keith.
