Default Advice needed: route from Madrid to Tortosa

I'm visiting the Delta del Ebro next week and want a route from Madrid to Tortosa.

Michelin Rutas suggests either

1 Madrid-Valencia and then north on the AP7 (loads of lorries I imagine)

2 Madrid-Zaragoza and then SE on N232, A231 and T330

The second is shorter but takes an extra 40 minutes. Does anyone know those roads between Zaragoza and Tortosa? Are they dangerous, bendy, scenic?

Any advice appreciated
