I'm 36 and work as a CORGI registered gas engineer / Plumber working on heating systems and kitchen, bathroom's and rain water systems, i would like to know is there plenty of work on the Costa's, Gilbraltar and what sort of wages do tradesman with my skills get, also on the Schooling system they have there as i have a 10yr old girl and 6yr old boy and what sort of lifestyle would our family have,.
I would be great full for any information that you could give us as we are going into this a bit blind so witch areas would be good and a large English area.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope to here from you soon.

Sorry to have to tell you this but.....
I was a Plumber for hundreds of years in the UK but retired now.
Have you been to Spain before ?
Wages are very low if you can even get work and to go legally self employed is very costly.
Spanish plumbing is totally different to the UK, most hot water is supplied from Ascot type heaters run off bottled gas or elec storage type, baths are bricked in, no panels etc, wastes and drainage are a joke.
Corgi reg is not a lot of good here.
To be legal you will need Spanish Papers and be required to authorise all your work.
You will need Spanish even in the Costas, as you would not survive on Expat trade.
Starting a business in Spain is another story.

Jason, you are always welcome to ask anything you like, there are some really clued up people on here, some of us like to have a laugh, and to be honest I have never met a situation that couldn't be answered by the informative and helpful people on here.

Thats said be prepared because, right or wrong, some of us do tend to treat it a little like a local bar, and you are always welcome to pull up a stool and join in with the banter, just don't let it upset you, serious stuff gets answered.

P.S. Be careful of Derbyflan, he is feeling a little frisky at the moment OK?

He posted about 5 times on old unassociated threads instead of starting a new one for his question.
I just told him to stay on here and i would delete the others.
It is a little difficult keeping up to speed in so many different places. ;-))

There's a thread running called "why stay in England" where people have a nice friendly banter about their reasons for leaving the UK.

You ought to go there and have a chat with people.;)
