Advice on living in Costa Blanca
Hi, we have a time scale to move to Costa Blanca this time next year..
We would like to move to maybe one of the following areas:
Playa Flamenca
Villa Martin
La Marina
Does anyone live in one of these areas or near there that can recommend it? We are going to Playa Flamenca in August for 10 days on holiday so will get more of an idea then on suitable nice areas.
Also will need to put my 2 daughters in public spanish primary school (age 7 and 9 when we go) so anyone that has children in a Costa Blanca spanish school that can recommend please let me know the name of school and what area it is in.
Thanks in advance x

Playa Flamenca is very good. and although I have no personal experience of the schools I do know, from friends who lived there, that they are very good. Plenty of shopping there, and close to the new shopping centre in La Zenia, which is one of the biggest on the Costa Blanc. The beach are is very nice, and a new coastal foot path was being built, and has now been finished, so you can walk from La Zenia to Punta Prima and beyond with almost no traffic.

Re: Advice on living in Costa Blanca
Thanks Mikelincs this is very helpful as we were swaying towards Villamartin!!! Might see if we can get something on the border of Playa Flamenca/Villamartin as we still have all Playa Flamenca amenities then. It's difficult as we were going to get more of an idea of areas in August but obviously that is the height of the season so everywhere will be busy.
Most long term rentals are in Villa Martin rather than Playa Flamenca. There's loads and very cheap in La Marina but was worried it might be a bit of a bad area and that's why it's cheap!!
Thanks again

Re: Advice on living in Costa Blanca
La Marina urb, as opposed to La marina coastal village, is a very large urbanization administered by the Spanish town of San Fulgencio.
You will get a lot of property for your money here. It is a thriving urb with residents of all nationalities. It has lots of shops, bars and restaurants and some local services.
It has no public transport to speak of but is a pick up point for the local tours companies.
It is a place that is has the reputation of being little Britain in the sun and you can probably live there without speaking a word of Spanish.
The people who live there have formed many clubs and societies to suit all tastes and enjoy a very good life.
