Smile advice on finding an electrician job

Hello
My husband is a qualified electrician and experienced with commercial and domestic. We have been looking for a job for months and months on the web but having no luck. We don't mind which area as long as it's Spain or Gib.
Thanks in advance
Julia

unfortunately there are thousands of Spanish electricians also looking for jobs, does your husband have Spanish qualifications as he cannot use his British ones and does he speak fluent Spanish? if not then I don't hold out much hope for him, sorry but that is the way it is at the moment and I appreciate that this is not what you want to hear but if you need to work then Spain is not the place for you at the moment.

Thanks for the advice. Like a few you mention this isn't the best time to be looking.
A bit confused that you say his qualifications aren't valid in Spain, some people say they are some not. I better look into it again.

I think you should write the British expat...Spanish dictionary.
What fun you can have winding a few of us up. Just like the Blackadder - Samuel Johnson episode.

I just might, but you will have to go into more detail about "extreme caning".....Deal?

And you do need to show more imagination in the "banana masterclass".....

UK qualifications are not recognised here at all. Whilst they might help, he will have to pass all the Spanish exams again (in Spanish) before he is able to sign off work.

There are a few Brits in Spain that have managed to do this but, I suspect, the majority have not!

My husbands company is doing a bit of electrical work on on a house in Spain and they're using his Electrician who is coming over from England to do some of the work and that work has to be signed off by a Spanish electrician. Most of the electrical work on the project is being carried out by Spanish, but this particular bit is very complicated (automatic, smart house stuff) and actually the Spanish who are working on the house havent a clue, hence this electrician is coming over - BUT, her work (she's a lady electrician) has to be signed off by someone who has no real understanding of what she'll be doing anyway ???!!!

Whatsmore, the work already done has had my husband "gobsmacked" cos of the standard. They are apparently reputable and competent electricians, but the amount of insulation and gaffa tape and lose wires around on supposedly finished work is astounding!!!!
