Advice on Finca in Tarragona area
Hi I'm a newbie
This is very early stages, I have friends that have bought a Finca and I'm thinking that this is something I would very much like to do as I'm currently living in the UK and don't have a mortgage, no dependants, only my wifey, this would be a permanent move.
What sort of money would I be looking at, would want something in reasonable condition, I quite like the off grid idea, ie solar power although a water connection would be needed.

Many thanks for your reply.
I should have said I'm looking for an inland property, not by the beach, we like the country and scenery rather than the sand, I'm not familiar with the areas yet, we have friends that have bought a place in Catalunya.

If you look at the link you'll see many of the properties are country houses a few km from the coast. There are quite a few people living off-grid around there in fincas. Tortosa and and the surrounding area is very nice and ideal for such a lifestyle.
If you use that link but then change the filter to "country houses" all those seaside apartments will disappear. I did and first on the list is a 5 bedroom place with 25,000 sqm meters of land (for 87k). That'll keep you busy!
The prices in that area are very good because hardly any Spanish people want to live there these days. Most who still work the land leave the fincas empty and drive in from their modern villas and apartments elsewhere. The full time residents are made up of quite a large number of expats doing the off-grid bit.

and here some of them are, with their off-grid eco places available to stay. This will give a good example of the homes you can get hold of around there: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/s/tortosa?g...8nic&source=bb
