Activity on Esuri
Hi just drove back onto Esuri after a trip to the beach, and there for all to see is a massive crane at the side of the defunct shopping centre, taking down one of the old cranes which as sat there for at least 10 years!!.
Not sure if all the cranes are coming down but will check on my way out, Garda Civil in attendance so maybe being taken down as unsafe!!. Ken. |

Would be an ideal time place for the likes of Aldi Lidl to open a store on there, think this as been the busiest I've seen Esuri and the surrounding areas, which is great to see and shows things in a positive light, fingers crossed!!. Re: Activity on Esuri
well two of the cranes (one at the shopping centre and one at the hotel) didn't turn with the wind and makes them dangerous. may be the reason to bring them down?
|
Re: Activity on Esuri
Looks like the other four at the hotel are coming down today as well. There is activity right now! Could it be assets being sold off/liquidated? I've heard the hotel and the shopping centre will be released for sale in January.

Re: Activity on Esuri
well good news as those cranes weren't safe in anyway.
altho i used them to see where the wind was coming from :) |

Re: Activity on Esuri
I'm not sure they actually belonged to Fadesa. ISTR that they were rented and when development stopped it was more cost effective to leave them where they were rather than the cost of taking them down. Subsequently the leasing company went bust too.
I suspect they are being removed primarily for health and safety reasons. 10 years of just standing there has probably made them unusable anyway. |

As far as I'm aware when they took it over they had it either rent free or low rent. Presumably that has ended and they are not making enough to cover the full rent, who knows.
It was rent - free .. for a while, and yes its clear that the income generated by the current 'strategy' would not support any increased costs this year. As sad as I am to hear of us losing one of the few places we have in CE - it comes as no surprise. A certain resto owner in MF has expressed interest, previously - perhaps someone should whisper in his ear..... and at the same time explain all the history and problems etc. What a shame..... lets hope from the seeds of failure some enterprising person can make this work as there is a potential money making opportunity for a thick skinned resto/cafe/bar professional... with the right formula (IMO) I still feel the place above the shop is also an ideal location for something special, but interest in that died years ago, after someone invested a bunch on what looked like AV equipment - we went/sneaked in to look at all the work and had a good nose around I also spoke to a well known estate agent who was selling it and visiting it at the time. Though this would put pressure on the shop I still feel that for the benefit of CE as a whole it would be great to get this place up and running.... and it would be a different business as well. Years go by and little happens...... Jon |
Re: Activity on Esuri
It appears that nothing will survive there with the constant relentless complaining that goes on. Esuri needs more places not less.

Re: Activity on Esuri
My oh my ,this was the first time I visited the Martinsa Fadesa liquidation site.I was amazed at the price of apartments in Esuri. Things are not improving ,not that I am looking to sell but it would be nice if property increased slightly.

At least the GC is a much improved place - as Ive mentioned previously, and the 'local' the shop is buzzing and fun.... Lets see what happens over time... as I agree we need MORE in CE. Jon |
Re: Activity on Esuri
:-) you misread it Jon, I was not referring to you but who ever it is that seems determined to scupper business in that building.
