Abbeygate & Helvetia
Am having a few problems regarding a claim which I regard as legitimate. Anyone else in the same boat?

I've just insured with Abbeygate and would be interested to know what problems you are having...

Re: Abbeygate & Helvetia
Anyway. two years ago we had an almighty storm and my 3m x 3m, professional, trampoline ended up a pine tree. Suffice to say, the safety netting and poles were ruined and there were two tears in the trampoline itself.
We made a claim. the assessor arrived and said that should be fine - I think we were only claiming 600 euros.
We then got a letter through the post stating that the claim had been rejected as the trampoline should have been indoors! Now, has anyone got a room big enough for a 3m square trampoline where you achieve tremendous heights?
We complained. They replied again stating that it should have been tied down - it was.
We complained, they then wrote back and said that if it had blown towards the road and not the house, it would have been covered!
At this point I gave up - they were simply making excuses for the sake of it!
We have now changed insurers but don't know if they will be any better until we have to make another claim (if ever).

I had full contents and buildings insurance with Helvetia, including accidental damage and 'stuff' in garden.
