2nd hand online car agencies

Hi all,

I am wanting to ask if you have had any positive or negative experiences buying a 2nd hand car from an online agency?
One in particular I found via autoscout24, and its called hesseauto.agency

When I google them there seems to be nothing about them other than their own web site. I was hoping that since they claim to have lots of Spanish customers someone here may know about them?

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,
Daniel

They are well-known in Germany and other countries, but after all it is just an online marketplace for cars. If you buy a handbag through ebay, you need to focus on the person or company selling the product. They just provide a platform for sellers & buyers, so it's not autoscout24 selling the car

Hi Moses2013,

Thanks for your reply.
Sorry is I have misunderstood you, are you saying that Autoscout24 is well know or are you referring to Hesseauto.agency?
I'm familiar with Autoscout24, but its more so Hesseauto.agency that I'm wondering if anyone has run across?

Best,
Daniel

Ok. Never heard of them but this on their website expains it: https://hesseauto.agency/?pid=services I'd certainly be worried buying from them if there is not even a company profile on Google with ratings etc.

HESSE AUTO does not maintain a vehicles park, we act as middleman between you and the Lessors holding the vehicles

Terms of sale are agreed by our company with our partners (banks or lease companies) and cannot be negotiated. The terms were set in the task book of the public auction organized by our partners that granted us the right to become official sellers of their fleet.

Yes, you are right, it's very worrying. No results on a google search. Yes, I read that page. I'd never heard of such a system for selling second hand cars. It does sound really dubious!!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I suggest you buy from a real main dealer who will offer all legal guarantees etc. and do all the paperwork.

Re: 2nd hand online car agencies

I'm always interested in these 'ghost' type websites that have no substance other than a rather professional webpage and especially where they start to post photos of their staff.
There can be standard photos of cars and stuff that are freely available, stock images, but I always have concerns when I find a photo of a member of staff is shown elsewhere and under a different name. There may be a legitimate reason, but it raises suspicions.

The "Meet our Staff" page on the website - second row, second in from the right, short red haired woman with glasses -

https://hesseauto.agency/?pid=staff

Now the University of Limerick website "Meet our Staff" - top row, third from left - real name Eileen Carroll PA to Director and Department Administrator -

Good iSpy ….. How did you find that duplicate photo for her?

People can work for more than one company, but it does seem strange Maria Soledad Vazquez Estevez HESSE Auto accounting manager is listed as a staff member in Limerick, Ireland and their business address is listed as Fuutlaan 14, 5613 AB Eindhoven, Netherlands. As you say, there could be a legitimate explanation. I love a mystery and have e mailed her at <[email protected]>

Interesting to note photo from their address in Netherlands in Google Maps

Richt Click on photo and then search Google for image. It will then show all pictures found on Google

Re: 2nd hand online car agencies

I have an add-on to my Firefox browser, though the same one works with others and there are other add-ons that will perform an image search.
It doesn't restrict the search to Google but searches multiple websites/engines at the same time.
Just right click on an image, any image on any website and when the menu comes up you click on the icon and it does its stuff and opens a tab for each search engine it is using.
I doubt it always works but usually it is good enough. That's how I found the woman. It didn't come up with results for every photo but after two failures and it came up with the third, that was enough for me.

By the way, on one of their pages are links to Facebook, Twitter etc.
Usually you click on these and it takes you through to their page or their entry. These don't and just go to the generic page for Facebook and so on.

I'll finish now but if you look at the advert for this "Claas Lexion 750" for Euro 79,000 -
https://hesseauto.agency/?pid=view&vid=10664

It just so happens to be exactly the same as this one for Euro 190,000 -

Wow, that's all so intriguing. What an incredible length to go to defraud someone of their savings! But I guess for these people if they hook just one person it was worth it.

Is there an EU based anti internet fraud agency I can report this operation to? I once found links to a Spanish police agency but it was too hard to work out what to do and they didn't have an email form.
