I'm not sure you could base yourself in any of those towns (or Terrassa) and work in a non-remote IT job and be assured of future non-remote work in the same town. As all roads lead to Barcelona, it's easier to find a job or change jobs if you need to if you're based in Barcelona (or the outskirts) or Sant Cugat.
That said I haven't checked the market recently so I don't know how much remote work for new hires for companies based in Catalonia has taken off. If it has maybe you could take advantage of working remotely and basing yourself in a cheap area. Another reason for basing yourself in BCN when you're in your mid-20s is the nightlife of course. You are right and Sant Cugat is another option, just looked at rentals and cheapest €700, then another €850 on idealista. Everything else €950+ and maybe more for families. |

Unfortunately i am 38 :D Me and my kids are moving to Spain by the end of this Year but my husband is already there. Good to see these type of conversations here.
