Another reason for basing yourself in BCN when you're in your mid-20s is the nightlife of course.

Of course nightlife might be another reason for some, then again you might not be able to find an apartment that central. Our place is 10 mins drive from Lloret and I'd say there is plenty if nightlife for young and old;).

You are right and Sant Cugat is another option, just looked at rentals and cheapest €700, then another €850 on idealista. Everything else €950+ and maybe more for families.

Unfortunately i am 38 :D Me and my kids are moving to Spain by the end of this Year but my husband is already there. Good to see these type of conversations here.
