Default Moving to Fuerteventura

Hi we are a retired couple living in Gozo but wishing to relocate to Corellejo, Fuerteventura. We hope to rent long term and welcome any tips or advice. Can't seem to find out if there is good internet and what the cost is, and whether, if we get our UK pensions paid into a local bank account, we have to pay tax on them. We have been told we will be eligible for free health care.......could this be true? We are coming out on a fact finding holiday shortly but any imput now from those who are in the know would be a great help.
Thanks everyone !

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Hi welcome aboard.
Don't wish to sound negative and slightly off topic as well, but have you checked out the other Canary islands before deciding on Fuerteventura ?
Having lived in the Canaries for best part of ten years, I can say hand on heart for a number of reasons that it would be bottom of my list.
Internet in Spain in general is not normally quite up to UK standards and a little more expensive also, but that is not always the case.
Uk pensions can normally be paid into Spanish accounts and UK health rights can be transferred to Spain, forgoing normal UK rights, but I'll leave the finer details to others who I am sure will be along shortly to advise.
Hope things work out for you anyway. D.D.
