It would be something that Sue needs to address, but I doubt it, since it is consistent with the hierarchy of the other forums.

I've requested it be moved.
Ta da!

Yeah, it's been structured like this for as long as I remember, and it seems to work well enough.

The forum used to be more active but we went through a period a few years ago when some threads just consisted of links to the latest horror stories coming out of SA, the same opinions being reiterated over and again, and a fair amount of squabbling. Things are a lot quieter now and we often go for a while without any new posts, then one or two gain some momentum again.

Very few, if any, if the 'old guard' on this forum still live in SA. Ed has just left, and I've been in the UK for a few months, but not for much longer!

From my last visits however I have been finding myself being more positive about SA than my family/friends that live there.
I check in here periodically! I miss Cape Town almost every day but at moment would not return permanently, trying to work out to spend 3 months there every year when we retire, taking in the sun and friends and family and the good life when you are on holiday! I still feel nervous though when driving out and about especially since living here in Canada! This year is the first time I heard my own sister say the country is "f....ed" she hates it but loves it! That is how quite a lot of my friends feel too! They are all waiting to see where their kids end up eventually after they have graduated from Uni. The exchange rate worries us more if we had to move back and buy property, even holiday property! Like you I am undecided where the country is moving to? I get positive and then something happens and I get negative again! However I never run it down to people, I try to sell it's tourism benefits. I am though talking about the Western Cape! I would not like to visit any of the rest of it!

Might also be good to create a new sub forum for Cape Town.
We all know that Cape Town is not part of Africa.

Only Hout Bay is not part of S.A. with their own passports and all.
