Port Elizabeth?

We are a British family of four with the opportunity to move to Port Elizabeth. We are currently in Adelaide, Australia. All advice and ideas about PE are greatly welcomed - it looks amazing, just need to know as much as we can from people in the know....thanks

It's a struggling, slowly decaying, rather small city in one of South Africa's more violent, more corrupt, more desperate provinces. Why would you even consider trading Adelaide for it?

I was going to ask that question. I cannot se why anyone would choose Port Elizabeth - or any destination in South Africa. Even my Afrikaner friends whose families have been there for generations are leaving South Africa.

My advice to the OP is "stay very firmly put and thank your lucky stars".

I thought that, but from the OP saying it ‘looks amazing’ I thought there must be another PE s/he was referring to.

It’s been a long time since I was there but it was awful then, doesn’t sound like it’s changed or got any better.
