moving to SA
Hi there everyone new to form.
My wife who is south african and I are UK based but looking to move over to SA to live. We are looking for some advice about the job situation there. I am a time served sheet metal fabricator welder with aviation and marine experience, and would be looking for work similar to this if possible.
We have researched the immigration prospects and I can enter on a spouse visa. However it would be ideal to get a job offer to get visa and work permit at the same time, we would be happy to do the immigration process ourselves. Has anyone any names of good recruitment agencies or contacts or advice on our situation they could offer us?
Many thanks..
Alex

Re: moving to SA
Hi Tinner, welcome to BE and to the South African forum.
The quick answer is that you may struggle to find work - we have many thousands of skilled artisans who are looking for work and are BEE compliant - and probably significantly cheaper than you. Have a look at www.pnet.co.za - that's about the biggest job site down here and will give you an idea of what is around.
You will need to organise your own visa / work permit - don't even look for a job without one, you'll get nowhere.
Good luck - hope it works out for you.
