Default Changing conditions on my existing visa

Hi,

I am changing employers. Has anyone changed their conditions on their visa since the visa rules changed in June 2014? VFS are telling me I need all the documentation that you need for making a new visa eg. police certificates. I start my new job on 1st December. Last time I changed my employer all I needed was my new contract. Anyone been in this situations?

Thanks!

No, I havent - but I do know VFS are paid on gathering all these documents for you (or they were when my brother in law used them). I'd suggest talking to an independent immigration attorney instead who will give more impartial advice. I don't know if things changed with the new rules, but it wouldn't surprise me that Home Affairs made it harder for you. They seem to specialize in job creation.

However, if you are employed under a scarce skill quota visa, you can change employer without notifying them. See here (section 9):

Department of Home Affairs - Scarce Skills & Work Permits

Thanks Ed, I am actually here on a Vistor's permit with 2 conditions: I live with my SA wife and work for my current employer. Anyhows I'm jumping into this will let you know how it goes. Yeah I saw the scarce skills permit changes, wish it was that easy!
