HK has gone the same way, so many people so little space, nothing much appears to be sacred.

I'm retired as well, but JT and many others are what our lives were built on, what made those years so memorable
look at the youngsters comments on yuotube full of praise for groups like Moody Blues, Tina Turner and many many more. we may have brought this with us into retirement but regrettably few have managed to build on it.

I also look forward (with an occaisional glance back), planning a big house move (probably the last),
But too old now for anyone to make me an offer of employment in Singapore

however, there are many things I wish I could have shared with my BH, places, smells, experiences of the Far East.
Instead I had a wife who refused 10 days in Singapore or HK because it would effect the house fund.

the home of the olive, the largest grower of olives in the world

yep, nowhere near SG I am afraid, it used to be a toss between Europe and Far East, always fancied life with a table cloth and flip-flops, would be useful here at times, only 35c here today.
whilst no dhobie rash do get gecko's (chit-chats) in the house from time to time.

So got to be Spain, Italy or Greece I suppose? I'm kinda surprised that we get good quality olive oil here (imported) at reasonable price and not to mention olives. Currently on Californian black olives.

Pros and cons: Europe & Asia. Know a few folk here that split the year up, and why not if you want 2 homes

Spain is the largest producer of olives but being lazy sell a high percentage to Italy who mix it with theirs and others and sell Mediterranean Olive Oil. Greece fell down on its actual production when the EU started using satellites to monitor claimed areas - and found claims were being made on cliff faces and underwater.

even the UK MAFF (or whatever jumble they use now) have used satellites to check on land being claimed for subsidies etc.

sounds like a nice thought, splitting my life, luckily only one BH so I can't get confused as to where I should be and when.
