Kuala Lumpur at the time of Merdeka
 

I was stationed at Sungei Besi Camp from April 1957 to July 1958 doing National Service as a clerk in the Royal Engineers.

Merdeka (Malayan independence) was celebrated on 31st August 1958, and I should like to make contact with other British residents at that time, either military or civilian.

I have recently been busy scanning my photos from that time into my computer.

Photos of Singapore but you might well have traveled through Singapore at the time and the well over 2000 photos might bring back some memories.

I've just done 3 pages for now but I'm going to bookmark that - fantastic.

I'll get through it but do you know offhand if the poster has the photos on a site of his own? Would love to share it with some other people.

If you are referring to the site I put up iirc a few other sites are referred to somewhere in that lot.

To begin with none of the photos had any writing across them and I think a few posters were printing them off or using them elsewhere so a lot of the guys put the copyright thing across them.
Pity.
