Employment Pass Application
Hi Im new to the forum having just been offered a job in Singapore and have been doing some research on an issue I have just come across and Im hoping I can get some help here. I know that this question has been posed many times before from the research I have done but (on this site included) but I seem to just keep going round in circles in trying to get it answered.
Basically I have to complete the EP and that question re convictions has come up. I was convicted of 3 petty crimes when I left school (over 20 years ago) and I know that these are now well and truly spent but from my research I keep getting diferent answers to answering yes or no. The problem is I have to send the form via my new employers and they will see that I have these convictions and am pretty sure they will withdraw the offer. The job is not in any way high security/risk but am really worried now and think maybe I should not proceed at all. For my current job I had to provide my employers with a disclosure Scotland check which came back with no convictions as they are spent.
So does anyone know what MOM Singapore do? Has anyone answered no to this question with spent convictions and if so what was the outcome?
Would really appreciate any advice.
Thanks.
