DTA and tax advice
Hi everyone,
I am flying to SG for a 24-month, full-time contract on Sunday and I thought I was all set with tax, but I've seen a couple of things today that have worried me. Double-tax treaty (DTA) I've read that HMRC has a double-tax treaty with Singapore ... I wasn't aware of this. Does that mean that double-taxation won't occur as a UK resident going to work out in Singapore? P85 With the above in mind, what is the relevance of all the overseas tests and residency/tax year queries on the P85? I understand one should be completed for a potential tax rebate and I believe I am eligible for split-year treatment (I am a UK resident, was last year, won't be next year and I think I meet the third auto overseas test), but is this even something I need to consider if there is a DTA? I'm no tax expert, and I appreciate you may not be either, but any assistance or clarification would be very much appreciated. Rory |

Re: DTA and tax advice
You could try finding an overseas tax consultant in UK who could give you advise.
