This could have been nasty. Well it wasn't too good for the two cars that got hit but at least nobody was seriously hurt, thank God.
The Hilton manager is claiming that it is due to excessive rain. That doesn't really surprise me. Having lived in Singapore, I know that the city state gets the North-East monsoon really BIG time.

We've had heavier rain many times before. And the roof should have been designed for 3 times the worst rainfall ever.
If the roof drains were working there shouldn't be a problem and the drains should be working as there was an inspection last week.
