Basic Utility Costs in Singapore Any Clues Please
We are probably moving to Singapore (just trying to work the numbers out) Anyone out there with a three bed condo who could advise on monthly, electric, gas, water, internet, telephone. I know of Numbeo, but looking at my own city (Shanghai) its way out on a lot of things
We will have 8,000SGD a month to live on after tax and rent, does this sound liveable for a family of four
thx

If you are careful with the aircon then the bill for elec and water combined will be lowest $160 -$200 per month. If you use a lot of aircon then this will double.
$8000 a month after tax and rent is quite OK. A small car would cost you say $2000 a month. Make sure school fess are employer paid if you have kids though.

Also, internet about S$55 a month. Gas is normally bottled. We get through one S$40 bottle every 2 months. Cable TV starts at about S$55 a month.

We used to have gas on tap in Singapore. Thought that was the norm? And I'm going back 8 years here.

$8000 post taxes & ex-rental is plenty! At present, the average utility bill for our place is $350 (water, electricity, refuse, taxes), tel $15 (subscription fees), cable + broadband $70 & gas (bottled) $40 - $50 every 3 months. That's about it, really.
I am assuming the kids' education would be taken care of - the real killer is International School fees. Tanglin Trust starts from some ridiculous amount (last I checked was about $15,000/year), and prices only go up, up and away!
