Accommodation required

Can anyone recommend cheap/ affordable accommodation hotel or apartment in Singapore for May. Looked at plenty of hotel sites but most are coming out of my budget and I don't fancy staying in a back packing hostel either.

The YMCA have hotel rooms too. I've no idea what their rates are but might be worth a shot.

Also have a look at www.agoda.com - they do cheaper hotel rates.

I stayed at Link Hotel in Tiong Bahru for a few weeks. A bit of a shoebox but rates were pretty good compared with others. I heard someone recommend the Peranakan Hotel too over in Katong.
