Default Windows 10 free crock of SH£$

I reserved my upgrade and yesterday received my message to upgrade, Currently I still have windows 8.1 OEM.
After 22 Hours and a lot of hassle because I have a dual boot with Linux. I got the message" Resaurando su version anterior de Windows"
Yet another Microsoft Gem!!!!, I must start moving more over to Linux like 715 Gbts and leave 5 for Windows maybe, or use my old win2k and XP machine at least it had, 1600x 1200 pixel definition 16 years ago
BTW all my settings have been stuffed in this too..........................

Is it better than 8.1 too early to say but I don't think so.

N.B. I'm posting from my Win 7 PC not the Win 10 laptop.

Will I change PC from Win 7 to 10? Not that I can see until forced to do something

Microsoft seems to live in its own bubble. It traditionally likes to invent its own 'standards', but as the rest of the world has defined and adopted standards for things, Microsoft has only recently (begrudgingly) been forced to adopt more industry standards. But it still seems to live in its own little world.

Unfortunately, Microsoft still dominates the business world. But I suspect their dominance will only decline over time.

I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and it loaded up no problem, it seems a whole lot better than 8.1, that definitely was a crock and I'm pleased to see the back of it.

Not done a lot with 10 yet myself as I mainly use an iPad, but almost all the feedback I've seen has been positive with no major complaints other than the extensive inbuilt spyware which apparently even reports back to HQ every time the user goes to the toilet or lights a fag.

All the feedback on W10 is positive because W8 was such a bag of shyt.

I can see no reason to upgrade from W7 if you are happy with it.

Win 8.1 was an improvement over win7, but only if you stop everything coming in and remove most of the Apps. Removal of all Apps possible was one of the first steps on acquiring the pc.. In our house we have 4 laptops (win2K and XP dual boot no probs whatever 16 year old pc) (Win XP only {Originally Win7} and slow 6yr old pc) (win 7 ultimate, 3 year old pc currently in repair) (Win8.1, Win10 downloaded installed doesn't work, restored 8.1 by computer no reason given, pc updates all latest, 1 yr old pc settings all changed by update).
I have an Android mobile, it had pages of apps, after removing about 3 pages of them and hacking it, it was possible to load software to block all ads and apps.
Now it is faster and less anoying.

I think that's a bit unfair. I agree that Microsoft implemented their own version of 'standards' but nevertheless they were still based around open/industry standards and in many cases were adopted. Coming from a network background, I would suggest that the likes of Microsoft, IBM, Cisco and HP have contributed a great deal to IT tech standards. Contrast that with Apple.

Apple = Mafia. Had one, tried it, couldn't afford it. The protection racket cost too much.

Well, Microsoft has a history of being behind the times... up until internet explorer 9, web developers had to develop one set of rules for industry standard browsers / devices, and another for Microsoft products. If it weren't for Microsoft's dominance on the office desktop, they would have largely been ignored, and lost most of what they had achieved.

I need not mention Microsoft's complete dismissal of mobile, for which they are now paying dearly. Hate Apple if you like, but your €100 Android phone wouldn't likely exist without them, and even if it did, would probably more resemble windows 3 on a touchscreen, and blackberry would still be the dominant player.

Thanks for that, most informative. Companies beware, is this ECHELON in an ISO (Real virtual Trojan Horse if that makes sense)?? Industrial Espionage worldwide !! When I worked for a Chinese Co they made us install a package for Lotus notes. Hidden in the package was a program called TC, (Total Control). I found out because I had Zone Alarm installed and it reported TC was trying to connect etc. I informed my expat collegues and we all uninstalled/returned our PCs to a previous date and refused anything to do with Lotus Notes, The PCs were our own. Sincé attempting to install win 10 everything has got slower and it misses letters when typing. Obviously it is hiding somewhere on my PC. I think the time has really come to move completely to Linux, I will try and install some of my stuff there and see if it runs. At the momento It boots automatically into Linux 60GB (E), then on the other partitions I have Win 8.1 OEM on 250GB (C) 200GB (F) 200GB (G) It is a 720GB partitioned and clone of the original.
I still have the original 500GB drive in a drawer from when I bought the PC with Win8.1, I then partitioned as C (250GB) and I installed Ubuntu on E (250GB).
This is a Spanish PC and it is not possible to completely eliminate the Spanish background. This has caused me a lot of probs, especially the Spanish updates from Dell. I have uninstalled all software that I can relating to Dell and do not use the Microsoft account or any sort of cloud crap, That was also eliminated along with 95% of the apps............Uninstalled or if not possible disabled.

Have a look here, Windows 10 Is Spyware
Definitely moving to Linux, only prob is the desktop. MS is just an organ of the US government. Any good T shirt designs. Definitely 710 Gb for Linux and 10Gb for the US. Why isn't there. a smiley for the mid finger raised?
I've also found out that the keyboard Works like it should in Linux and all the remaining Spanish bits go out the Linux window. Marvellous easy to partition too.
I'll get my wife sorted too she is always complaining about how slow Win7 is,
first a partition try and delete.

Ubuntu
Version: 14.04
I have the burgundy desktop. I have never worked out how to close the pages on the web or other pages generally some are OK and some are not. A couple of years ago some friends had an XP desktop on their Linux setup. My wife had a bust up with them so I can't ask....
Firefox also has a problem, every time it opens it says "Whoops etc"
and has to be closed before it opens.
