How many frontier workers are there - and from how many countries?
So, we hear that 7,000, or 10,000 or 12,000 would be affected. The figure can go up and down depending on the political temperature, but what are we really talking about?

Iconic Gibraltar Naval Station receives a revamp
Iconic Gibraltar Naval Station receives a revamp
The outpost with arguably the best view in the Navy is to receive a £2m upgrade as Gibraltar's iconic 'Windy Hill' station is partially rebuilt.
Sitting high above the Strait of Gibraltar, personnel at the monitoring facility keep an eye on 60,000 ships entering or leaving the Mediterranean, or crossing between Africa and Europe.

Government rentals to increase by 3%
The first increase in 34 years
This represents an increase of 39 pence per week for a two bed apartment in the Alameda Estate I.E. the present rent is approx £13/week
This represents an increase of 34 pence per week for a two bed apartment in the almost new Mid Harbours Estate I.E. the present rent is approx £11.33/week
I can envisage a lot of upset Giraltarians.
GBC - Gibraltar News - GBC TV and Radio Gibraltar
Compare this with the cheapest two bed rent I can find advertised today in the private sector of £900/ month

Spain's 'veto' over Brexit deal for Gibraltar could be illegal
MEPs and legal experts have warned that the veto over Gibraltar's future after Brexit would give Spain special status among EU nations, which are supposed to be equal.

Question for Dastis: Are we making progress or are we still stuck in the past?
Replied Sr Dastis: 'I give much importance to Gibraltar, as a claim to complete our territorial integrity, and to Gibraltar as a place where thousands of Spaniards work and where there is an economic, social and human relationship which I want to preserve.'
He added: 'What I don't want is to take initiatives that could endanger the future of those citizens that work on the Rock.'
Question for Dastis: Are we making progress or are we still stuck in the past?

Gibraltar could stand to benefit from a UK-US trade deal after Brexit, according to a visiting congressman.
Virginia congressman Gerry Connolly - who is on the Rock meeting with the government this week - said Gibraltar’s future trade with US “depends on what bilateral relationship we work out with the UK”.
“There’s been a lot of optimistic talk of such a trade agreement especially in the light of the US walking away from multilateral trade agreements,” said Connolly. “The British government, in lieu of the Brexit vote, could probably have a positive impact here in Gibraltar, making it a gateway for UK-US trade and investment. As Gibraltar is part of the UK it could maximise its influence within that government to better its own advantage.

Another academic legal opinion:
https://www.academia.edu/34200005/Gi...sels_Agreement
In summary: The ICJ has made 4 Advisory Opinions and 1 Judgment that all confirm or state, ‘that the right to self determination is
applicable to ALL non-self-governing territories.’
and
the UN International Law Commission and the UN Human Rights Commission regard the right to self-determination as 'jus cogens' (compelling law).
So why is the Gibraltar issue settled once and for all in the international courts?

We have been petitioning the UN annually now for over 50 years to no avail.
