Does any one know what is required to convert my UK license in to a Qld license.?

Also What is a class C license in Qld.

PS: Taking another test seems a bit unfair as my Fiancé only had to send in her QLD
license to the DVLA to get a full UK license (and the insurance company counted
her QLD driving years on her UK policy). Dean.

I'm sure many people will know more than me on this subject (I haven't driven for 4 years, so I haven't looked up license info yet), however I will pass on a link which you may find helpful;

http://www.theaa.co.uk/motoringandtravel/Idp/index.asp

It is all about the International Driving Permit.

Hope that's what you're after.

While I don't mind doing a driving test, I went through hell with my wife doing her
test. So looking at this from a different angle. Does any one know if any of the
states will issue a license on a UK one. Could be simpler to settle in that state
that go though another driving test.

Nope, 'fraid not.

If you come from overseas and live in any State or Territory for more than 3 months
you have to do the test in that State/Territory. If it's any consolation my wife did
her test less than 3 weeks ago (VicRoads) and she says the examiner didn't refer to
her clipboard much and didn't even ask her to do the low speed manoeuvre. So after
all the nervousness it wasn't much to worry about.

At the end of the day the road rules in Aussie are (slightly) different to (say) the
UK and she thought the process (including having three lessons before the test) was
well worth it after 20+ years of driving and forgetting some of what you should be
doing. But that's after having passed the test of course ....
