Default help!

I have serveral questions, hope someone offer me advice:

1. I have already submitted CITIZENSHIP application for three months
However, I committed offence of shoplifting (around 200$)two weeks ago
Now i am being charged aganist canada law and have to appear on police
station next week, and will attend court next couple week. Everything
is so bad
My question is: Is my CITIZENSHIP application going to be canceling?
and Can I have chance to apply for CITIZENSHIP in the future or I will
lost the chance forever?

2. The reason I shoplifted is that my wife like the camera very much
I do not have enough money left in my pocket (I lost my job)
I love my wife, so decided to get one from sears. However, I was
detected by sears security guard. I regreted what I did. But I know it
is too late.
My question is:
Is the lawyer a mandate to appear on court with me?
The police officier told me you can call the number(he gave me)for
getting a lawyer?
I said I do not have money for lawyer. He said there are some free
lawyer available? Is that true?

3. I got call for job interview last two day, I am skilled computer
programmer
my question is: Will the employer hire me if I have criminal record?
Even employer hire me now because I have not attended law court yet
right now
What happen if he know my criminal record in the future?

4. Does anyone know what happen to me after I go to law court?
what punishment and sentence I will have to face?
Does someone have any idea of what I should do now?

5. What does criminal code affect me? I really do not know
Does police officer put me in jail?

I really appreciate people who can answer my questions
Next week police officer let me appear on police station
and he also ask me to attend the court next month?
time is forthcoming, I can not sleep with fear
Can anyone give me advice what I should do before I go to law court

This could affect your application, especially since you did it AFTER
submitting your application.

    > 2. The reason I shoplifted
<remove irrelevant reasoning> The fact is you admit you are a thief. No
reasoning is going to change that, unfortunately.

    > Is the lawyer a mandate to appear on court with me?
Has nothing to to with immigration. Speak to a lawyer.

    > The police officier told me you can call the number(he gave me)for
    > getting a lawyer?
    > I said I do not have money for lawyer. He said there are some free
    > lawyer available? Is that true?
Has nothing to do with immigration, but legal aid may be available. Or
maybe not. Speak to a lawyer.

    > 3. I got call for job interview last two day, I am skilled computer
    > programmer
    > my question is: Will the employer hire me if I have criminal record?
Has nothing to do with immigration, but most employers do not hire
thieves.

    > Even employer hire me now because I have not attended law court yet
    > right now
    > What happen if he know my criminal record in the future?
You could be fired for non-disclosure. Your best move is to disclose it
now.

    > 4. Does anyone know what happen to me after I go to law court?
    > what punishment and sentence I will have to face?
    > Does someone have any idea of what I should do now?
Nothing to do with immigration. Speak to a lawyer.

You made this bed by becoming a thief. Now you have to sleep in it, and
the fear that is bound to accompany it.

While I doubt you'll be meeting Bubba anytime soon, you have just earned
yourself a life-long criminal record as a thief and the job
refusals/terminations that go along with that. Congratulations.

1. Get a phone book and pick one. Find out if you qualify for legal aid first though. see 2. Do they not offer a court appointed lawyer when you were arrested? Maybe that is just in the movies.

2. It depends whether you qualify for legal aid, which is means tested.
http://canadaonline.about.com/cs/legalaid/
Some lawyers will work on no win no fee basis, others will offer free initial consultation. Phone around.

3. Plenty of people with criminal records are working in Canada , maybe even some of your collegues. Its not as bad as it seems right now.

4. Tell your employer if asked, if you lie and they find out you will be canned for sure. If it were me I wouldnt volunteer the info if not asked though.

5. They can do background checks if it is pertanent to your occupation, but I think it is not that common. I dont know if they need your consent or not to do this.

6. You must have seen movies or TV where Bubba is the cell mate....dont drop the soap...

I am glad you were caught, hopefully it has scared you enough not to be so stupid in future. It is not the end of the world. No one was killed or hurt. Deal with it and move on.

Default Mr Miller and "experts" ??

dont worry, like I said earlier to you. Humans make mistakes, its important
to learn from them and feel sorry for future.
Tell the judge you are sorry and there are different legal ways to avoid
crimininal backgrounds for life,,,it may stay with you for some time though.
Take to good lawyers,,,,atleast they will guide you in the right Legal Aid
society.

Mr Miller : Would you please as an expert guide this poor man into some
legal aid society or some law offices who may be able to help him. thank you

Nothing I can do as I have no idea where he lives. He needs to look into
Yellow Pages (or Super Pages) and find Legal Aid or similar institution in
his area or find a criminal lawyer he can afford. Crying in public forum
won't help him.

He must also notify CIC that he is currently charged. There are some recent
decisions of Federal Court in similar cases (when applicant committed
offence after submitting citizenship application and didn't disclose it to
CIC) upholding CIC's decision to refuse application or to revoke already
granted citizenship. His only hope is to have criminal case dismissed - if
he is convicted then he can forget about getting citizenship for a while.
This is why he needs a criminal lawyer, not comments and opinions from
immigration forum.
