In USA, there is no need to do any internship to get DDS/DMD. So there is nothing called “internship” in USA for dentists.

And even if there were, requiring a visa would probably put those off, unless you're a USC already.

But if you haven't studied it in the US, your UK experience is probably worthless here anyway.

My US dentist did a fellowship (extra training) in the UK.

And that's the difference...medical school and doctor stuff over here that isn't done in the UK and then state requirements on top.
