Re: OVER 50's & 60's Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread
Hi Sue,
Well I suppose your right to close the 50's & 60's thread, most of the original posters bit by bit over time dwindled off, but hey it was good while it lasted, we all made a lot of friends and some of us have kept in touch with each other outside the Forum, and still do in emails & the like,
Speaking for myself I will be eternally grateful to trottytrue for starting this thread a little over 3 years ago, I joined the thread right from the start, and while I was still living in America and still just thinking of coming home to retire, no decision just thinking, well I thank my lucky stars that I had all the wonderful and knowledgeable people on this thread to help me with all my questions and really listen to what I had to say, and we all not only helped each other but ------ WE CARED!!!!!
We had a good run, I am sad to see the thread die, but I suppose nothing lasts forever
Take care everyone,
Rodney.

She did it on the thread. Real democratic like. She closed it without consulting anyone from what she said. Just like that.
So now we will have to use this thread to get information about our move to the UK.
I can think of two questions and they have probably been covered ages ago. One is using a cell phone in the UK? I'm sure you can't but is it practical to buy a cheapo for only three weeks? How about an iphone? Same? How about using a iPad over?

Re: OVER 50's & 60's Chit-Chat & Daily Catch-Up Thread
I wanted to modify my last post but I got called away. Where? Well we bought the DVD called Marigold Hotel so we watched that tonight for the first time. (note the price at Target was so much less than Costco).
Sally actually made it simpler by closing the other thread. sorry for the rant!
Today was our 46th anniversary.
Cheers
Thanks for the info on the iPhone . I'll pass it along.
