Hi,
I've just signed myself up for a little run around Holden Barina - car only cost $13k but now after sales are telling me how I can't live without tinted windows or paint protector (as car will be parked outdoors and I'm advised Brisbane's bat crap is not good). This would set me back an additional $1200.
Are they really essential? I can't see me getting an additional $1200 when I sell the car on as it's got a magical paint protector.
Cheers,
Stu

Tinted windows are good. Reduces heat coming in. I would do those. Not the paint protection.

Yeah I got sucked into both when I bought ours.
Paint protection is a waste of time. Get the windows done but as said before you can probably get it cheaper than from the dealers.

Thanks - I'll take the car and run and get the windows tinted much cheaper elsewhere.

The Tinting and paint protection package often gives the car dealers more profit than the actual car sale.
When I was quoted $995 for mine, I found that it cost about $300 from the same people that the car dealer used.

As others have said, just do the window tinting. It will make a huge difference to the comfort of driving in your car. Get a quote from a place like tint-a-car and see if the car dealer can beat it - most likely not.
